Yamatoya is one of Japan's oldest children furniture brand. Designing and manufacturing furniture for over 80 years, the brand strives for affordable high quality living.
Launched in June 2015, the SukusukuEN high chair is an improved model from the SukusukuES high chair! The design team from Yamatoya heard your feedbacks and has designed the new Sukusuku EN high chair. Made from 100% rubber wood, the chair is incredibly sturdy with the ability to hold up to 60kg. Improved metal fittings have been introduced to strengthen the stability and allow easy assembly for the user.
The chair can be adjusted to accommodate the size of your growing child. From a 6 month old to a 60 year old, the SukusukuEN high chair can be customised to suit the size of the user. All chairs come with stabilizers to be placed on the foot of the chair to prevent the chair from tipping over should your child actively move about in the seat. The structure of the chair enables correct ergonomic seating for the user, ensuring correct back posture. The SukusukuEN high chair adheres to the Japan and Europe safety standards.
The SukusukuEN high chair is easily made adjustable by simply loosening the frames of the chair, the seat plates can then be easily shifted to the appropriate height and set back into place by tightening the screws. Each chair comes with a removable protection t-guard to ensure that your child does not slip from the seat. A table is provided and it can be easily stored away when not in use.
Available in 8 exciting colours, the SukusukuEN High Chair is bound to brighten up any room.
The SukusukuEN is designed in Japan and manufactured in Indonesia.
What's the difference between the ES and the EN?
The EN is an improved version of the ES based on the feedback, research and tests the Yamatoya team has conducted since it's launch. The core differences are listed below:
DO YOU PROVIDE INSTALLATION?
I'm afraid not. We strongly encourage parents to install the chair themselves so that when their child grows older, they'll know how to adjust the plates on their own. Instructions as well as the tools required to assemble the chair are provided within the box. IMPORTANT: During installation, the seat plates SHOULD NOT require any force to be slid into the grooves. If it does, the structure of the chair is not loose enough and you have to loosen the bolts further.
WILL THE PAINT CHIP/ WEAR OFF?
Yes, normal wear and tear is expected over time. Deep scratches or bumps against sharp objects will result in chipping of the paint. Our Natural coloured high chair is not painted, it will hold up against any bumps or scratches.
IS THIS SUITABLE FOR MY DINING TABLE?
Yes, the height of the SukusukuEN is designed for babies/kids to dine with parents at the dining table, fostering good family dining habits. The height from the ground up to the table is 686mm.
ARE THE SEAT CUSHIONS MACHINE WASHABLE?
Yes, they are. Just throw them into the wash and leave it out to dry in the sun or in the dryer on medium heat.
DO YOU SELL THE SUKUSUKUEN WITHOUT THE TABLE / GUARD?
No, we don't. We only carry the SukusukuEN as a complete set.
WILL MY KIDS BE ABLE TO CLIMB OUT OF THE CHAIR? Children are wonderfully intelligent beings who will eventually learn how to climb out of the chair on their own. Yamatoya does not manufacture harnesses that will strap the kid into the chair. Your child should not be left unsupervised in the high chair.
THE PAINT OF MY CHAIR HAS CHIPPED, ARE YOU ABLE TO PROVIDE PAINT TO TOUCH IT UP?
Unfortunately, we're unable provide the paint to touch up the chair. We're looking for third-party alternatives for parents who would like to touch it up themselves should they really feel the need to do so. Though, this is not recommended because the two colours might not match and the third-party paint is not likely to be toxic free for kids.
HOW DO I ADJUST THE SEAT PLATES OF THE CHAIR?
Step 1: Remove the table
Step 2: Remove the T-guard
Step 3: Lay the chair on its side and loosen all bolts on both sides of the SukusukuEN (You do not have to remove the screws)
Step 4: Carefully pull apart the side frame and pull seat plate/foot rest out of the frame. IMPORTANT: Extracting the seat plate should not require excessive force. If it does, the frame of the chair is not loose enough. Please loosen bolts further before proceeding.
Step 5: Slide seat plate/foot rest into intended grooves and tighten bolts on the frame to secure the plates into place.
Step 6: Insert T-guard and table back into the chair.

DO YOU DELIVER INTERNATIONALLY?
I'm afraid at the moment we're only able to conduct deliveries in Singapore. This is something we're working on as we grow.
